Privacy policy

What Global Code Consulting Corp. collects, why, and what happens to it.

Last updated

MockMissions is a new site. This policy will be reviewed and may be updated as the Site grows; changes are posted here with a new date.

This Privacy Policy explains what information MockMissions (mockmissions.com, the "Site"), operated by Global Code Consulting Corp. ("we", "us", "our"), collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the Site.

1. The short version

  • You can take quizzes without an account.
  • If you create a free account, we keep your name, email, sign-in details and your quiz progress.
  • We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-site advertising.
  • You can download your data or delete your account at any time from your account settings.

2. What we collect

When you visit (with or without an account)

  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and the time of the visit, kept in our server and security logs.
  • Quiz activity without an account: your answers in that session, used to show your score. Questions flagged for later may be counted anonymously to learn which topics need better study material. When you create an account
  • First name, last name (optional), email address, username, and your password (stored only in scrambled, one-way form; we cannot read it).
  • Optional: a profile photo, your language and time zone.
  • Your quiz history: attempts, scores, study lists and bookmarks.
  • Security records: sign-in times and devices, two-step sign-in settings if you turn them on, and an account activity log (the pages you open while signed in, whether access was allowed, the time and your IP address). We use this log only to keep accounts safe and to find misuse.

When you contact us

  • What you send us (for example your email address and message).
  • When you report a problem with a page: your description, the page address (without any private codes), your browser and device type, screen size, and a screenshot only if you choose to attach one.

We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, sensitive information such as government ID numbers, financial account numbers or health information.

3. Why we use it

  • To run the Site: show quizzes, score them, save your progress.
  • To run your account: sign-in, security, password reset, and service emails (for example "confirm your email" or "your account will be deleted on ...").
  • To keep the Site safe: prevent abuse, spam and automated sign-ups, and investigate problems.
  • To improve the Site: count which quizzes and topics are used most (in totals, not about you personally).
  • To meet legal duties and enforce our Terms.

We send marketing emails only if you choose to receive them, and every one has an unsubscribe link.

4. Cookies

We use cookies that the Site needs to work: keeping you signed in, protecting forms from forgery, and remembering display preferences. If we add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask first, and you can change your choice at any time. Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a request to opt out.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, under contracts that limit their use to that purpose:

  • our web hosting provider in the United States, which stores the Site and its database and sends our account emails.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a sale or reorganization of the Site (the buyer would have to follow this policy). We do not sell personal information.

6. How long we keep it

  • Account information: while your account is open. When you delete your account there is a short waiting period (30 days) in which you can cancel; after that your personal information is removed or made anonymous.
  • Server and security logs: up to 30 days, unless needed longer to investigate a security issue.
  • Account activity log: up to 1 year, then deleted, unless needed longer to investigate a security issue.
  • Problem reports and their screenshots: up to 1 year after the problem is resolved, or sooner if you delete your account.
  • Anonymous totals (for example "this quiz was taken 500 times") may be kept indefinitely.
  • Backups are kept for up to 14 days and then replaced.
  • We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.

7. Your choices and rights

  • See and download your data: Account settings > Export data, or email us.
  • Correct it: edit your profile at any time.
  • Delete your account: Account settings > Delete account.
  • Emails: unsubscribe from any marketing email; service emails stop when your account is deleted.
  • Cookies: the Site uses only cookies it needs to work, so there is nothing to choose today. You can delete or block cookies in your browser. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask first and add a cookie settings link to every page.

Depending on where you live (for example California and other US states, the EU, the UK), you may have further rights, such as asking what we hold about you, asking us to delete or correct it, or objecting to some uses. To use any right, contact us at support@mockmissions.com. We will not treat you differently for using your rights. We may need to confirm it is really you before acting.

8. Security

We protect information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), scrambled passwords, optional two-step sign-in, limits on repeated sign-in attempts, an account activity log that flags repeated attempts to open pages an account may not use, and restricted access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

9. Children

The Site is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Where information is stored

The Site is hosted in the United States. If you use it from another country, your information will be processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date above and, for important changes, tell you on the Site or by email before the change takes effect.
